Pinnebrød translates to "stick bread". It's basically dough you wrap around a stick and cook over a fire. Delicious when eaten outdoors. This is a staple cabin meal for us!

- 250 grams flour (no more than 50% wholewheat, if at all)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 tablespoons + 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 dl (50 ml) oil
- ~1 dl (100 ml) lukewarm water
- Hotdogs ± ketchup (optional and delicious)
Mix dry ingredients together. Add in oil and water and mix with a spoon or your hands until the dough is soft and smooth.
To cook
Take a small ball of dough and roll it between your hands to make a thin snake. Wrap the dough snake around a long stick or, better yet, around a hotdog on a stick, and roast over a fire! Hot coals work best for this but in a pinch you can also roast over flames or even a camp stove if there's a fire ban.

Tips
- If your dough is not rolled thin enough you will end up eating some raw dough, even after cooking. This almost always happens to the first portion you cook.
- If making for an overnight trip, mix the dry ingredients ahead of time and bring a measured portion of oil with you to make at your destination.
- Feel like you need some vegetables with this meal? Throw a whole red onion (skin on) into the coals before cooking your pinnebrød. Cut off the first layer of skin after your pinnebrød is finished and enjoy!
