Sæteren Gård has roosters!
15:00Sæteren Gård was an easy weekend "hike" for us: 2 km over a somewhat uphill gravel road, and that was it! The path in was busier than any other hike we've been on because the area is very kid friendly and many young families visit on the weekends.
Sæteren Gård is an old farmstead so there were lots of buildings to check out. After sitting down and drinking some super sweet raspberry juice, we walked around a bit and found that a few buildings were reserved for lodging (in a very motel-looking kind of way). We also found some animals! As far as we saw, they had chickens, roosters, and bunnies. Classic choices.
On the way home we decided to take the trail instead of the gravel road. It was about just as long but mostly downhill on the way home. There were no signs of any kinds of berries growing in the woods as far as I could see but we did pass a by a lovely waterfall this way!
We prefer more private cabin areas with a little less foot traffic so I don't know that we'll be visiting here again in the future but it's very kid-friendly so I can see the appeal!
